What are the common malfunctions of DAF dissolved air flotation
1. Abnormal Microbubble Release
Abnormal microbubble release is a common fault, manifesting as large, unevenly distributed bubbles or failure to release properly. This is mainly caused by blockage or scaling in the dissolved air release device, leading to obstructed flow channels, or unstable dissolved air pressure, preventing the dissolved air from being evenly released. Furthermore, poor water quality, containing excessive impurities or corrosive substances, can also damage the release device structure, affecting bubble morphology and reducing flotation efficiency, resulting in decreased water purification effects.
2. Pipeline and Component Blockage
Blockage is common in pipelines and core components. Suspended impurities, colloidal particles, or chemical reaction products in the water can deposit in the dissolved air tank, pipeline inner walls, and release device channels. Blockage leads to poor water flow and increased pressure, affecting not only dissolved air preparation efficiency but also potentially causing equipment overload. If blockage is not addressed promptly, it will accelerate component wear and even cause system shutdown, affecting the continuity of the overall treatment process.
3. Pressurization System Malfunctions
As the core power source, the pressurization pump is prone to malfunctions. Pump body wear and aging seals can lead to pressure leaks, making it impossible to maintain the stable pressure required for dissolved air flotation, resulting in incomplete dissolution. Furthermore, impurities entering the pump can cause impeller jamming, abnormal noises, or abnormal pump start-up and shutdown due to voltage fluctuations or motor failures. Pressurization system malfunctions directly lead to a significant reduction in the efficiency of the entire dissolved air flotation system, or even its inability to operate normally.
4. Sludge Scraping and Effluent Abnormalities
Sludge scraping device malfunctions manifest as incomplete scraping, operational jamming, or inability to start, often due to wear on the transmission mechanism or excessive scum entanglement in components. Delayed scraping causes scum accumulation, disrupting the stability of the flotation layer; some scum may also be discharged with the effluent, causing turbidity. Simultaneously, leaks in the effluent system or blocked pipelines can lead to unstable effluent flow, further affecting the treatment effect and failing to meet the expected water purification standards.
